Christmas Presents!

Wow. That is all I have to say. Christmas is always such an amazing time of year and I absolutely love it! The only downfall of this year was that there was no snow on the ground, which is something I grew up with here in Canada. I got some pretty amazing gifts from my family, and I'm sure that everyone liked the gifts I gave them. My brother REALLY enjoyed his gift. I got him Assassin's Creed Revelations and he had ordered a special pack of the first three Assassin's Creed games for Xbox 360. I'm really happy with all I got for Christmas, especially with the new Zelda game for Wii!! It just came out over a month ago on November 23 and is the 25th Anniversary edition of Legend of Zelda with a cd of 8 songs. I'm a pretty big Zelda fan and bought myself the first Zelda game for Wii, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, for my birthday in 2008, even though it came out in 2006. I still have yet to finish the game, but I'm working on it!

Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
As you can see, I'm very excited about this gift. Along with everything below, I also got some more clothes and money. The Roots socks came in a pack of three with a grey and black pair and a red and white pair. They are super comfortable! I took all these pictures with my new camera, so my next NOTD will not be blurred. My old camera is now five years old, which really isn't that old, but it was a very basic camera. This one is pretty basic too with no extra lenses or anything, but it's so much better than my old one. My old digital camera was an HP and it was getting so bad that my Blackberry's camera takes better pictures than it.
Clockwise from top left: Long sleeve shirt from Gap, eye mask, Burt's Bees Peach and Willowbark deep Pore Scrub, Burt's Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream, Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil, Nikon Coolpix 56200 Camera, Cupcakes calendar, Roots socks, American Eagle flats, Avon Naturals Body Glazed Apple and Walnut moisturizing hand and body lotion, clementine and Hershey kisses, Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword.

OPI Designer de Better and Animal-istic
I also got these lovely polishes, which I adore. The Designer de Better one is a Miss Piggy polish and the Animal-istic one is Animal, who happens to be my favourite Muppet! They're both from the Muppet collection. Anyway, I'm thinking of doing a NOTD for the Designer de Better and will do one for Animal-istic when I wear it.

Thanks for reading and I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays, spending them with good company and food.

Philosophy's Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser Review

Monday I was at the mall and decided to stop by Sephora to pick up this cleanser. I heard about it from my friend Brittney on her blog, Finding Glitzerland. She made a post about her skin care routine and talked about the cleanser. I read it and decided to try it because my old cleanser, Spectro Jel, really dried out my skin. I have oily skin so when it gets dry it ends up getting even oilier when my pores create more oil to compensate for the loss of moisture. Anyway, so I bought this cleanser and I've only had it for a few days but I love it! It doesn't dry my skin out and makes it feel super soft. It may be only a few days, but I'm hooked on this stuff already!

I give this cleanser to thumbs up, so far. It is rather pricey, but I think it's worth it. It is certainly much better than Spectro Jel anyway! I'll do a post on my whole skincare routine some time soon.

Nail of the Day: China Glaze Naughty and Nice

This is such a great holiday colour! It looks like a nice wine red and can be worn with just about anything, in my opinion. I applied two coats because it's pretty thin, but it ends up looking quite nice. I applied a base cat, two layers of nail polish, and a layer of top coat. My base coat and top coat are both OPI. My appologies for the blurry picture. My camera is finally starting to give up (after 5 years) and I think it's about time I bought a new one. The picture was taken in artifical light.

Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara Review

I appologize for the lack of blogging! I have been so preoccupied with exams and essays that I have had no time to blog! Anyway, here is a review on Maybelline's Great Lash mascara.

I absolutely love this mascara. It has been working out for me so well! I had been using a mascara from Avon and I found it really clumpy. It was also supposed to last really long, and it did! I couldn't get it all off with my makeup remover so whenever I went to wash my face or shower the next day, I would have raccoon eyes. Very unattractive. So, I decided to give this mascara a try. I've used it before, but for some reason I had never picked it up again. I tend to switch mascara a lot and don't really stick to one product.

So, I really like this mascara because there is no clumping AT ALL. It is magnificent. Really brilliant. And it doesn't coat my eyelashes in gunk at all. It makes my eyelashes look super long and full without making it look like I'm wearing mascara. It also comes off well when I use my makeup remover, it doesn't stay on and give me raccoon eyes in the morning like my Avon mascara did. It is just fantastic. I really can't say this enough times!

This is definitely a two thumbs up product (all my reviews seem to be two thumbs up, maybe I should do a review on something really crappy soon). It's also inexpensive so you're not going to break the bank on this product any time soon.

Despite the fact that there has been a Lush store in my city for quite a while now today was the first time I actually went inside the store and bought something. I used to think it was some weird food store because I saw cupcake shaped things in the windows, but then I heard Amarixe talking about it and found out it was a bath and body store with handmade cosmetics. I LOVED the smell of the store. It was a bit strong but I still loved it. Anyway, I had been thinking about getting my mom some bath stuff from there for a while and did my research on their website before I knew what I was going to buy. I only bought two things because I haven't used their stuff before and I don't know if my mom will have some strange reaction, even though she doesn't have any allergies. I ended up buying her the Satsumo Santa bath bomb and the Snow Globe soap. They both smell very citrusy and my mom's favourite scent is satsuma.

The bath bomb is supposed to change the colour of the bath water and make the water smell really good. And the soap is . . . soap. My brother and I have decided to give them to her in her stocking. I hope she really likes them!

Aveeno Nourish and Style Volumizing Mousse Review

I LOVE this mousse. I got it in one of those teen packs that are about $10 for six to eight full size products. The prices depend on the pack, but they're still pretty cheap. I got this one at Shoppers Drug Mart. Anyway, so the mousse if fantabulous. It smells awesome and doesn't make my hair crunchy at all, which is always a problem I find with mousse. It doesn't weigh my hair down at all and allows it to remain flexible and workable. This is also gentle on colour-treated hair, which is always a plus. When you pump it out it comes out as a foam. It makes hair feel lush and full, which is good if you have fine or thin hair.

This is an inexpensive foam that is simply amazing. I definitely give this product two thumbs up.

Bain de Terre Review

I absolutely LOVE my Bain de Terre shampoo and conditioner. I first found it at a hair conference my mom took me this past April in Toronto. It was with the Joico products. I bought the Green Meadow shampoo, conditioner, and heat protector spray. I had originally bought it because it was cheap ($15 Cdn for all three!) but I would buy them again in a heart beat. It made my hair feel really soft and shiny and it is gentle enough for every day use. It also smells absolutely INCREDIBLE. The only downside I found was that I had to use almost a toonie-size amount to get any lather, although when I used less it still got my hair clean. I also have long, thick hair so I find I have to use more to get the product evenly dispersed throughout my hair.

And then I ran out near the end of the summer, which was a bummer. But my mom recently bought me some more Bain de Terre, but this time in Passion Flower Colour Preserving shampoo. The only thing is, my hair isn't colour treated. But I find it still gets the job done and still smells amazing.
I definitely give the Bain de Terre shampoo/conditioner two thumbs WAY up! Definitely a five star shampoo for an inexpensive price.

Romantic Bun

Here is a romantic twist on a bun that I found on missglamorazzi's youtube channel. I love her hair and makeup tutorials. The makeup I'm wearing is from her warm and cozy tutorial. I like to keep my makeup more natural and subtle and that's what I love about her makeup tutorials.
