Random Questionaire

I thought I would do a fun post here since I haven't really done many of those! they are mostly reserved for my "normal" blog The Thinker. This questionaire was actually on Allison (aka Amarixe)'s blog and I thought I would do it over here. Here are the questions!

1. Mood: Pretty happy right now. I'm very relaxed and feeling very lazy. A happy-go-lucky mood I suppose! And I'm not quite sure why, but why question it?

2. Did you do anything fun this weekend? No, not really. I went to work from 11-5 Saturday and Sunday. And, unlike in the States, it is not Memorial Day weekend here in Canada (although I'm off school already so this is my vacation). No fireworks this weekend!

3. What is the closest object to you that is pink? Probably the shirt that I'm wearing right now! It's a "boob tube" from American Eagle that I bought in the States a few years ago. (I love that word, boob tube. It makes me laugh :P) It's pink and orange so I always feel so summery wearing it!

4. Current nail polish: OPI's Banana Bandana. I'm also wearing two layers of white nailpolish underneath to keep it from looking streaky, but my nails just feel cakey and gooey. I think I'm going to take it off tomorrow when I get home from work.

5. If you could nap your fingers and be anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? Probably Scotland. My ancestry is Scottish and I've never been there before, but I really want to! I'm hoping to do a semester there in my third year (two years into the future!) but until then a girl can dream.

6. Current outfit: American Eagle boob tube, Old Navy dark denim jean shorts. Very casual laid back style today.

7. What is the last movie you saw in theatres? Avengers. It was, without a doubt, one of the best movies I have ever seen. It was funny, action-packed, and filled with attractive muscley super heroes ;)

8. If you could only one age for the rest of your life, which would you choose, and why? I really don't know how to answer this question. Probably six or seven. Those were always the best years. You get to basically do whatever you want and get away with it because your six (except anything bad, of course) but you also get to keep your innocence and imagination and have a very positive view of life. Actually, I still have a hyper-active imagination and positive view on life so, like I said, I really don't know how to answer this question. Who knows, maybe twenty, thirty years down the road I'll think that is the best age to be.

9. When is the last time you played on a swing set? That would be May 5. I remember that day because I was at Longwoods with some friends (we were being cool and taking part in a re-enactment). There was a park there and my friend and I were swinging on it in our full-length dresses. It was pretty epic, needless to say.

10. Weekly goals: Well, I'd like to go to Service Ontario to get my Driver's License History to help set up my insurance (I recently got my G2 *eeeek!!!*), write, visit my friend, and prepare myself for Camp NaNoWriMo that's starting this friday.

If you'd like, answer these questions on your own blogs or in the comment section below and leave me a link :)

Benefit Snow White and the Huntsman - Rare Beauty Kit Review

Today's post is all about the limited edition makeup kit by Benefit for the movie Snow White and the Huntsman. I saw this and immediately thought "I have to have it." Not only is it limited edition, but it was an amazing price and the set itself has to do with a movie based on a fairytale. The kit was $54.00 Cdn with the value well over $100. The kits comes with POREfessional, BADgal Lash Mascara, Benetint, High Beam, and a makeup bag.

The makeup bag in the box.

I love the design on this bag. The trees and hearts are so beautiful and the  colours of the bag make it perfect for spring.

The kit also came with two papers. One is an instruction booklet on how to get the look of Snow White using these products. The other is a little piece of paper with a QR code on the back that allows you to watch a makeup video on how to get the look and a behind the scenes video of Snow White and the Huntsman.

POREfessional, BADgal Lash Mascara, High Beam, Benetint
I've never used these products before, but I'm very impressed with all of them. POREfessional can be used as a primer and minimizes the look of pores. It can be applied under and over makeup, although I prefer using it under mine. It works really well. It definitely minimized the look of my pores, it's not oily at all (which is good since I have oily skin), and it blends into your skin very well. The BADgal Lash Mascara was also really impressive. When I first opened it I was terrified of the wand because it is GINORMOUS. If you've used it before, you'll know what I mean. This thing is about two or three times the size of my Maybelline Great Lash Mascara wand. I find that it makes lashes much more dramatic and adds a lot more length than my Maybelline one does, so I think I'll be using this more when I want dramatic looks. High Beam is a great highlighter. I've never actually used a highlighter before, so I'm really glad that my first experience with it was with High Beam. It adds a nice glow to my cheekbones and, well, highlights really well. With Benetint I found that I was kind of disappointed. When I first applied it to my cheeks and lips it didn't really add as much colour as I had expected. However, when built up it looked really nice. It adds a really nice touch of colour to cheeks and lips, which is exactly what it claims to do.

Overall, I was really impressed with this kit. I think I'll definitely be buying these products again when they run out. This was a really well priced kit with several good makeup products. I give this four stars. I hadn't expected High Beam and Benetint to be so small (they are, after all, sample sizes) but that is the only problem I have with this makeup kit.

***Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any products mentioned in this post. I bought them all myself.
